Happy Birthday!

I can't help it. I am not one of those people who can be understated about their birthdays. I am one of those people who gets really excited about it starting a week before hand. And by excited I mean shouting it from the roof tops. (Yes, I am the same way about Christmas, my anniversary or pretty much any day that I receive gifts.)

So as a little gift to myself, I told myself I would finish this sock. All that's left are the toe decreases and grafting. I realise that some of you would say it's too early for decreases, but I like a close fitting sock. Hopefully, I can even cast on for the second sock, while I'm still pumped up about finishing the first one. Today.
And as pretty as I think this sock is, what I really like about it is the bottom.

(Shut up do you know how hard it is to take a picture of the bottom of your own foot with good lighting on a rainy morning? Hard.)

The birthday celebrations don't stop there friends! Tonight the Hubby makes my favorite dinner. I only get it once a year and I've been looking forward to it all February. It's asian cuisine with stir-fried pork, napa cabbage, julienne carrots served over noodles with a ginger, garlic cayenne pepper and safflower oil sauce. It's exotic spicy!! Yum! (Already drooling.)

WAIT! There's more! This weekend, I am going home with my mother to scrapbook* together.
I love spending time with my mother and not because it normally results in spending her money instead of my own. Scrapbooking is one of the few times my mother and I don't grate on each others nerves. Imagine several hours with your mother that are not only bearable, but enjoyable! I'm almost as excited about that as I am my birthday.

On a different note, I'd like to thank all the well wishers from my last couple of posts. You all really raised last month out of the dumps. All the kind words and wonderful surprises were enough to make any girl feel like a princess. I am hopeful that March will be a repeat of the joy and a different month all together. I am proud to be part of such a wonderful group of knitters and bloggers. Not just a group of people mind you, but of knitters and bloggers who are nowhere near by, nor have I ever spoke to in person, but are really just a big hearted group of in-my-computer friends. Thank you.

*We are strict Creative Memories scrapbookers, so no five ton pages with so much crap you can't see anything. We stick to pictures, paper, stickers, and the second most important thing behind the pictures-journaling. What is the point of scrapbook, if no one understands what is happening in all the pictures?
