Happy Anniversary!

The second was the Hubby and my second anniversary. We skipped a big to-do, because our last dime was spent on Christmas. We did, however, spend the whole day together, which we figured was the important part anyway. We slept in late, went to a yarn store, went grocery shopping, ate a home cooked dinner and watched movies together. What's that? We went to yarn store together?!! Yes, my knitter friends, the Hubby took me to yarn store for our anniversary. Admittedly he did sit in the car instead of coming in, but he did not complain about sitting in the car. Can you get much better than that? No.

Would you like to see what I got? I bought two new Addi Turbo circular needles and two skeins of Louet yarn in grape. (Second skein not pictured.) So really, the Hubby was helping me fill my New Year's resolution. I have fulfilled Numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, and part of 6. (Number one cannot be counted as accomplished until I have gone the whole year WITHOUT buying any more stupid acrylic yarn, though technically, I did not buy any.) 2: I shopped at my local LYS. 4: I stashed two new circular needles for trying socks(partial 6). 3 & 5. The yarn I bought was for a pattern out of one of my new pattern books.

But where oh where is the second skein not pictured, you ask?

Here:
This is Ribbed Jacket pictured here from my new Debbie Bliss book. I kicked resolution number 5's butt.

Pattern: Renamed Shawl Jacket, because of the collar from the above mentioned source.
Yarn: Substituted the Cashmerino Aran with the Louet Gem worsted weight in grape. One whole skein (175 yards/100 grams) and enough to finish the 1.5 inch of the collar of the second skein
Size: 3 to 6 months old
Modifications: My stitches per inch was perfect, while my row gauge was slightly bigger, so I knitted fewer rows than called for, while still matching the length requirements. This really helped reduce the total yardage used-Less than 200 of the Louet as compared to the 392 required of thte Debbie Bliss.
Needles: US 8 for the body and 7 for the collar
Time: I finished this last night. So it took about two days.

Now what do I do with the second skein of about 160 yards of worsted weight yarn? The two other worsted weight patterns in the book require more yarn and aren't all that thrilling. One is a garter stitch blanket and the other is a stockinette stitch hoodie. Blah!
